James Russell – SOS Children

I received a SPAM mail from a James Russell who claims to be related to SOS Children as a member of the Executive Commitee of Trustees. The website he uses on his signature is http://www.soschildrensvillages.org.uk. He is a scam. The REAL link to the charitable organization is http://www.sos-childrensvillages.org and not the one on his signature.

Apparently, he found my profile through the US Chamber of Commerce (what a lie!). He wants to offer me a part-time job. Basically, I receive a money order, I deposit it in my bank, withdraw the money, keep 10%, and then wire the rest to him through Western Union.

Here’s the deal:
The money order is fake! The check will bounce, but by that time I would have already withdrawn the cash and sent real money to him (less 10%). You can get in trouble with the bank and may even spend time in jail for it.

Don’t fall for this SCAM!
