   I received an email from Micheal stating the exact things that are in the above letter. I did go out and purchase the Versa Check Gold 2008 Software but haven’t opened it and after reading this I will return it to get my money back $84.00. I couldn’t find any of the other things he wanted me to purchase for my “KIT” so
   I don’t have to worry about returning any thing else……Thank God! I’m just grateful
   to Marcia Rogeers for letting me and others know that Micheal Scofield is a scammer who just wants to take your money and time. Next time he IMS me I will definitely tell him off. I can’t believe I almost fell for a scam I’m usually very careful but needed a job so bad that I guess I just wanted to believe he was for real and could help me. STUPID ME!!!!! PLEASE DON’T BE TAKEN BY MICHEAL SCOFIELD LIKE I ALMOST WAS!!!!! Debra Perysian-I learned my lesson!!!!

   This site states they have a program you can sign up for and make lots of money for only $2.95. Once you give them your credit card number to bill you for the $2.95 they scam you out of $97.00 without permission. I don’t have that kind of extra money to lose so I’m fighting to get it back. I’ve consulted an attorney and I’m in the process of filling out numerous bank forms to protest the withdraw from my account. Freelance Home Writers are also scammers so please don’t be scammed by them. Debra Perysian

   I got this letter today, but from a Debbie Symmonds (debontop@gmail.com). All of the copy is the same. So please be advised that multiple names are being used for this scam! I didn’t respond/buy anything, and am grateful for the info included here.

   well i was contacted by this micheal scofield as well. but fell for it. i was looking for work to stay home with my newborn, i was desperate to find work.. I’ve been working for him for about 3weeks now.. i havent received any money from him or paid him anything which is good, but i did spend about 300 on equipment.. It sounds so real..and i trust everyone.. but not anymore…… thankfully i only lost 300.00 but others have lost more…. i’ve contacted the Local police and The FBI and they are investigating this.. and I encourage others to do it as well so we can catch this creep…he is still tryijng to convince me that hes legit.. but i dont trust him or anyone for that matter… this creep needs to go to jail.. there are honest people out there who are looking for real work to support there families and this jack ass is taking advantage of that.. i hope he rots in hell……………i spoke with the FBI in Ft meyers fl and in cleveland OH so please call either one of these offices and report this creep.. .

   Im also talking to Paul Solomon on yahoo messenger…turned the tables…he’s agreeing to $10,000 cash up front…when I said send it to my Po box he stopped talking. I assumed his next step was asking for bank information to wire me the money lol.

   I am glad to see I was not the only one to fall for this. I had gotten the same thing after I applied for a job on Craig’s list. I bought the software, checks and ink and even bought the Versajette printer which I will now be trying to sell on eBay. My tip off was an UPS Representative who was upset with all the supplies that I was ordering from them for all the Next Day Air stuff that I thought I would be sending out. She told me that it was a scam and UPS was aware. I told her that I wasn’t aware of it! I felt like such a fool. I took the first list of names that I had sent checks to and found a phone number for one of the “clients” and called him and asked if he was expecting a $3,000 check. He said that he received it, but wasn’t expecting it. I got right off the phone and called the Sheriff’s Office and also called the UPS store where I had just dropped off 94 checks and had them hold them. I only did this for 4 days and am thankful that my part in this was limited.

   I had to buy those exact items as others advised above. I was contacted by Monica Afred – mprecious4life@yahoo.com – who advised she was working for Goal Post Ireland out of Ireland. She just sent me another list of people to send checks to today to which I haven’t even responded.

   Although I know it isn’t their fault, but one would think that Versa would put something on their site about these scams. They know that their business has increased lately because of people buying their software for this scam. Again I don’t think they are compliant in this, but they could help people like us. I know I went on their site to price out the supplies I would need.

   Tara, I feel your pain. I’m out about $400, but more than that, I just don’t feel like I can trust anyone anymore. I used to think I was pretty smart about things, but even my friends who I had told of this job didn’t think it was shady. They do a good job of getting us to believe they are legit. Sorry to everyone else who got sucked into this. I just hope what I sent out to others doesn’t cause financial harm to them.

   Don’t feel too bad. I shipped the packages through FedEx and racked up a bill of around $2,000 because I didn’t know how expensive the shipping was. I didn’t have time to check ’cause Matlock James kept me running around like a chicken with his head cut off. Not only that, some asshole calls me up and calls me a “crook” for sending him the check after I told his ass I was way more of a victim than he was. I broke up with my only love over this.

   Then when I told FedEx, they didn’t give me any breaks. In fact, they charged me hundreds of dollars in collections fees because I could not afford to pay them. This sucks. I have a BS degree in Accounting but I had to fall for this kind of job.

   Thanks Matlock James, you prick.

    I put out a resume (no personal info of course) on craigslist and I got this response. I was not looking for a job for money but with law firm experience as I am attending law school this fall. I had no intention of replying to this person but right away I knew it had to be a scam so I researched it and found this site.

    Guys, I just read through your stories and feel bad, sorry these people are taking advantage of others. I found this web site because UPS dropped off a package at my house yesterday. Inside was a check for $3,350.75 Nice, but just a little too nice. There are two names on the check; AUAC – AMERICAN UNIVERSITY OF ARMENIA CORPORATION with their correct addres and Wells Fargo Bank with their correct Bank Routing number on the bottom of the check. The package came from United Stationers Supply Company in IL, but the phone number referenced was in Miami (786-206-xxxx). Also, looked up the UPS tracking number and the package was sent from Richmond VA. What a scam!!!
