I am selling books for $500.00 on craigslist.
I got a response from a David Mark that seemed fishy. Now I see that there are all these scams sent by a person by the same name. I am not sure if this is just a coincidence or if someone is trying to scam me. He has asked for all my details, name, phone numbers, home adress – so he can mail me a check and send a shipper to pick up the package…he clearly stated I will not have to ship it.
Is this a scam? It is my first sale on craigslist.
I copied and pasted below the email I received from him:

consider it sold, pls do withdraw the advert from craigslist to avoid
disturbance.I want you to know that i will issue and despatch a check
payment to you as i dont want to miss this.after my check clear in to

iterm in your location,I will need you to provide me with the
following.
information to facilitate the mailing of the check .
1…..Full name to write on the check
2…..Full Physical address to post the check
3…..Home & Cell Phone to contact you
4………city and state,zip code
**I will like you to know that you will not be responsible for
shipping i will have my shipper come over as soon as you have cashed the

It’s a scam. They will send you a fake check. By the time you discover it, you would have already sent the product. Don’t fall for it!
