Nanny Scam – Melissa Grant, Victoria Henderson, Eva Daniel

Hello Fellow Nannies-
I know we are all smarter than this woman/man gives us credit for. The person who posted this ad, along with others in the San Fransisco, San Jose, Sacramento, and Santa Cruz area (I’m sure there are others) is a SCAMMER. Her story is the same except her two yr old is names Juliet in one and Nicole in the other. She signs her emails Mrs Grant (Melissa Grant), Victoria Henderson (but forgets to change it at the end when she still signs Mrs Grant) and now she is Eva Daniel. She will tell you that you got the job and then will want to get your bank account # (through Wells Fargo) and deposit a holding fee in your account until she gets home from vacation. Here is her post from San Fransisco:

I would like to put things in place so that you could start up immediately we arrive because her former nanny will not be with us anymore.

So I emaied her and she said the same thing and I told her that since I had worked at a bank that it wasn’t necessary for me to a checking with Wells Fargo. She emailed back and demanded that this happen. Whoever this is; was very determined to think that someone would be that stupid and naive to give that information to him or her. People like this need to get off their lazy ass and get a real job instead of mooching off other innocent people trying to earn a living the right way.
I also emailed her and the whole time I was thinking this is to good to be true, well stupid me if it sounds to good to be true it usually is. She emailed me right back letting me know I was hired and wanted to know if I had a wells fargo account, right then I was like why would anyone in their right mind hire someone they never met, I could make up stuff to make her like me and she is going to hire me without meeting me so I thought I would push it one more step and say well let’s meet before I take the job and she emails me back saying they will be back in two weeks but she would like me to start sooner which then I knew it was fake. I hope they catch this person, it makes me sick!

I got your mail and it really sounds great. I am very sure that my baby is in safe hands with you. You will have to take care of Mary from 10am – 3pm from Monday to Friday for those dates. I will surely get back if the need arise, but my baby is healthy and she can easily adapt to new environment. We will be staying at Regency Inn & Suites. Mary will be glad playing with your children too and also with the help of her toys, you don’t have any problem because she loves playing with toys.
I have arranged the toys from the store. I have just finalized with the toy store manager about the items my baby will be needing while you care for her. I want to inform you on how to make the payment for the items so you can have them ready before our arrival. I will mail your first week payment together with the cost of items purchased hopefully next week. As soon as you get the check cashed, you will have to deduct your first week payment and forward the balance to the toy store sales representative via western union money transfer (money in minutes), being payment for the toys Mary will be needing while you take care for her. Am presently working on a contract in Hughston Hospital of Columbus, Georgia and wouldn’t be available to call due to tight schedule. I hope you understand that am not residing in your state. Am coming there for a seminar assignment in April, You will start having my girl from the 27th of April to the 11th of May from 10am – 3pm on Mondays – Fridays Daily. I will have to lodge in an Hotel very close to you or your can have my girl in your house depending on what’s the best for you and I will be picking her up when am returning back from work..
