   Thank you sooo much. This nut is also trying to scam me. I kept telling him I would only accept a cashier’s check. I am still in contact with him as his latest e-mail was today in which I stressed I would only take a cashier’s check and he would need to make check out to furniture company. I knew it was probably a scam when he did not ask for pictures of my rental. I am renting a 1970′s remodeled mobile home to a CHEMIST? How does this scam work??? What should I do to report him as I am still in contact with him.

   I called and spoke with him directly. Very interesting that he provides an actual phone number that he answers. When he answers, he is unclear of what name he is responding to and sticks pretty closely to the “script” of his email.

   I got scammed not once but twice. Same guy trying to scam me. send me rent in full but have to pay for his furniture. He could not even spell the name right on university check that was supposed to be good. He inisted that I depost the check. What a jerk. Now his is using another alias.

    Man accused in $40,000 rental-home scam in Wellington now on the run, deputies say

    WELLINGTON — Albert Linden didn’t own the luxurious house he told desperate potential renters they could call home for surprisingly low monthly fees.

    In fact, he was leasing the property from a landlord – although he’d never actually paid rent, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriffs Office.

    Linden, 44, told people they could rent either the whole $1.9 million house at 13305 Indian Mound Road, or individual rooms, but then he stole the deposits and never delivered the door keys, sheriff’s Deputy Tom Turner said today .

    Law enforcement is on the hunt for the Connecticut native, who posted ads on various websites including Craigslist.

    Deputies suspect the 6-foot-2 man with blond hair and a British accent might be in the Bahamas.

    “We know he was transported to Tri-Rail with large bags,” Turner said. “We will find Mr. Linden, and he will go to jail for this.”

    Linden is charged with one count of organized scheme to defraud and 14 counts of grand theft.

    He has bilked unwitting renters of at least $40,000, including $20,000 he tricked one man into believing would go toward a down payment to buy the house, Turner said. Linden typically pocketed $400 to $1,000 deposits from renters, authorities said.

    Turner called Linden a “con artist of the first degree,” who advertised rooms and homes under “The Tropics Wellington” and “Stallion Holidays,” which aren’t licensed in the city or county for rentals.

    “They looked legitimate,” said sheriff’s Cpl. Paul Rubino. “But when you looked up the company, you would see it isn’t legitimate. Sadly a lot of people don’t do that.”

    The posts, at least one of which is still up, look enticing and include photos.

    Trav.com describes The Tropics Wellington as a place renters can “listen to the horses as they exercise just across the water … while gazing at the palms and local species of birds.”

    Linden also has gotten into trouble with the village of Wellington’s code compliance department by renting out rooms at 1340 Wood Row Way. Wellington’s laws don’t allow for boarding houses.

    The village since May 22 has been fining the property owner for operating a hostel. Village records show a hostelworld.com listing for a bed at $12.50 per night per person.

    Neither the Wood Row Way nor Indian Mound Road property owners could be reached for comment.

    Another 10 to 15 people have contacted the sheriffs office about being scammed by Linden, Turner said.

    “He’s very articulate and very smooth and very convincing,” Turner said.

    evril chadd sent me this email for a vacation rental we advertised on craigslist
    “hell Good day
    i will want to know if i and my wife can use one week (15 Sept to 21 Sept) in your place and i will want you to get back to me with the availability today, it this date is not available kindly get back to me with available date”

    I am always leery when the person sending the email uses very bad grammar. All of his I we lower case and he did not leave a phone number. I am glad I double checked before replying back to him regarding my vacation home.

    It probably is the same person using different names. I usually google whatever name they give me. Either it pops up all over Craigslist in different cities, or as for this case above, I googled “Dr. Mike Peters rental scam” (the name +rental scam) some thing usually shows up to prove others have received the same mail.

    I am agent -got same email..he finally wanted us to open a checking account for him to deposit the money for purchasing the building after his person takes a look.. wasted time..checked out his info..no such doctor

    Ok, it’s also wasted time to check whether or not there is such a person. Just look at the given phone number: “+447024083542″. All numbers with “+4470….” are used by scammers, without exception. You can even google this fact.

    I just received a phone text from this guy (Jpeproperties.com) about a house that I am selling and listed on Craigs list. My question, is there any Law Enforcement Agency to contact to help catch this Dickhead? I would like to help setup a sting or something to help put him away.

    so i see this company and all these names have been getting around for quite some time it took me a whole 20 seconds to figure out it was a scam . anytime they say they have sent to much money in the check for you or they need all your info so they can send you your money to buy your house its a scam . One if your house is posted on craigs list all the info they need is there like mine says any other info needed call me and we can negotiate. 4 years ago a guy tryed to pull a scam on my wife from some arab place sending checks to these people . I made him so mad he called me and cursed me out i took his check and i cashed but not at my bank i took it to a arab cashing place and they cashed it . put the screws to him when the fbi called the next day they laughed there ass off about how the scammer got scammed . people you are americans think about it why would somebody need to contact you from the uk or london about a house or a nanny . only because its a scam the number they c alled me with is 256-580 7374 wanting to make a cash offer on my house for sale please give the quick info well all the info is already on the site for sale all they need ed to do is call and make an offer . their email was JpeProperties.com sat dec 10 2011 10:40 pm

    Thank you so much for your posts, I almost got scammed too, you saved me a great deal of time and headaches, I also received a text from a 206-504-2323 # on December 10,2011,offering me cash for one of my listings, they didn’t give me an address nor any other information but to contact them thru their website http://WWW.JPEPROPERTIES.COM, but a quick google seach turned up this web page.     I am a real estate agent in Fort Worth, Texas. I just received a text in response to a Craigslist ad on one of my listings. The text was sent from 650-532-9564, and said “hello we would like to make a cash offer on your property asap. Please give us the quick info at http://www.jpeproperties.com“. It only took me about a one-minute-search on Google to determine this was a scam. I noticed on this site that I had received my call/text from JpeProperties from a different telephone number than was listed on any of the other postings here, so that’s why I am submitting this post.

    This idiot keeps texting me saying he wants to pay cash for my house, I’m not even selling my house, what an idiot and how annoying for someone to keep wanting to buy your family home you live in and don’t want to sell. I have two texts from him from different numbers within the last month, on my last reply I told him I was reporting him to the BBB for harrassment. Maybe this is just some dingleberry kid with a cell phone and personal issues so he harrasses and scams people ? I do know I sell stuff on E bay and Craigslist so maybe he must be getting information there because that’s the only public postings of my cell number.
