I did receive this email and fortunately my isp picked it up and deposited it to my junk mail folder. I have been contacted by this type of person before regarding a story about Bill Gates sharing his fortune with people like myself. Fortunately I was forewarned by friends that it was a scam. Anyway it is always a good thing to check out on Google or Snopes.
On 5/9/2011 I recived an e-mail supposely from Robert Mueller telling me he had caught a scam of the Marielle Global Lottery in Madrid, Spain and that I had won $1,000,000.00 but had been cheated out of it The e-mailed stated that if I returned the info. requested the money would be granted me. Said I needed to send Name Address E-Mail Bank name Etc. and I would receive the money.
Did you authorize them to use your name. The message came secure.
I received an e-mail from the FBI, International Monetary Division, informing me that I had won a lottery (Marielle Global Lottery) informing me that a lawsuit had been filed and this company was directed to pay and payment approved for the sum of $1,000,000 . I was directed to contact my new agent, Mr. John Arinze at joarinze@globalmail.com for payment processing. I suspect this is fraudulent as all of this type of e-mails are. Sadly, the signature on the letter is Robert Mueller, Director.
Please advise if my suspicions are correct and that this is a fraudulent letter.
This is what mine said. He said as soon as you report to John Passman and then he says contact Paul Wellington. He forgot to put the right name. What a &*&*%%&&.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation is hereby using this message to officially notify you of a pending transaction owed to you. Apparently, an International Lottery Company ( Marielle Global Lottery ) located in South Africa recently launched a new lottery system in which automatically selects alphabets, numbers and after ward randomly selects domains from all over the world. When an e-mail address is generated by this system, any e-mail that is VALID automatically wins their lottery. They ran a promotion during the first launch to promote their lottery.
The lottery company launched this system and apparently your e-mail address was a lucky winner of $8,000,000.00 US Dollars. The lottery took place on the 14th of December 2010, they claimed to have notified you as of then and also placed adverts all over their local South African websites, billboards, fliers and even TV stations. The Federal Bureau of Investigation found out about the transaction and started a stealth investigation, upon completion of the investigation, it was found that the lottery company never contacted you and wanted to keep the money without paying you.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation then placed a lawsuit against the lottery company in respect of the missing payment, also charged the lottery company for advertising your e-mail address which has caused you receiving alot of unsolicited e-mails from different impostors from all around the world. We hereby immediately advise you to STOP all communications with any individual outside your country claiming to have money or funds for you, proper investigations have started in regards to these impostors.
Presently, the lottery company has approved your payment to be paid via a Certified Check or Bank Wire Transfer. Any upfront payment in which may be required to complete this transaction will be taken care of by your appointed agent via a financier, therefore you are NOT spending any of your personal money to receive your winning prize.
You are hereby required to immediately contact your approved transaction agent by filling the following form below:
