Namaste Y’all,

Here’s my deal, within two hours of posting [01/21/09 1PM] an advert for a used dishwasher [http://flagstaff.craigslist.org/hsh/1002104126.html]i received this email:

‘Hello,

I’m interested in the posted item above, is it

still available for sale?

Olivia’

I responded with an email that yes it was still for sale and then today [01/22/09] received this:

Marix Owen

Thank you very much for the response, Anyways, I’ll be mailing a check via my Bank to you due to my job transfer and shortness of time. However, to ease the pick up, I’ll be engaging the services of a mover to do that after the check has been cashed. I’ll need this details below to mail out the payment to you asap…

• The Full name on the Check
• Mailing address be it residential or office
• Cell phone # and
• Final Price of the item

I’ll appreciate it if the item is kept for me. Thank you for the understanding.

Regards,
Oliver

Man, not only is there the blatant gender discrepancy between Olivia and Oliver it has Nigerian syntax smothered all over it: ‘regards’ and crap…

I emailed back and told her / him that i was (((reporting))) them. Big whoop as i know it’s probably just a drop in the bucket and this dude / dudette will just scam someone else’s email. Oh well, do what you can and i am grateful just for the venting ;)

Here are the various combinations of names and emails [certainly hijacked] used:

‘Marix Owen’ ” ‘Oliver’

‘reg.gills002′ ” ‘Olivia’
