I posted to craigslist as a bodhran tutor in portland oregon offering hourly lessons and I received this email:

you to be taking my daughter (Mary, she is 16 yrs old) lesson while i
am at work in your city. Am from England(UK) but I’m moving to your
area because I’m having 4 weeks contract with Environmental Protection
Agency( EPA) in united state. You do not have to worry about
transportation, have negotiate with a cab company that will be
driving her down to your place go and come.

So i want you to be taking her for 2 hours per day from Monday to
Thursday for 4 weeks. Get back to me with total cost. I wait to read
from you shortly, and remember she is all i have and i really want a
conducive and pleasant atmosphere for her.

When you wanted to talk with the girl with whom you wanted to meet, you should talk by yourself not given phone to your driver, who said to me not nice words and proposed come to your room at the hotel. I’m serious woman and if you need woman for one night could ask from the driver he could help you!!!

yes, I received the same message. I knew it seems so strange. I received few other messages that looks like scams. Be careful of these phrases received from craiglist. It is scam.

I was in Crimea in July 2010 driving there from Spain in my own car. I had Ofella´s phone number which I had purchased from a dating site. I spoke with her on the phone several times trying to date her and she said she didn´t speak English and she sent me an SMS saying that the interpretor would cost 50 dollars an hour. But what made me suspect was that on her profile she said she was muslim and on the phone she said she was jewish so I didn´t date her.
Finally my car got stolen with $6,000 in cash in it and all my luggage so the Embassy had to help me to come back home and my family had to run with all the expenses.

Hello all,

I’m a tennis professional in my city and I just got this email as well. Definitely a scam. Don’t respond to it. You would think that a doctor from England would have correct English when speaking too. If it was written in correct English I might have responded to it. Thanks all for letting me know that it was a scam because I was skeptical after I read it.
